Who has put it together?
The editors include musicians and liturgists from a variety of
backgrounds, bringing different skills and areas of expertise.
Among them are the Revd PETER MOGER, the Church of
England's National Worship Development Officer, and TIM
RUFFER, the RSCM's Head of Publishing. The group was
chaired by ANNE HARRISON, who helps to produce the
quarterly planner Sunday by Sunday for the RSCM and is
also one of the editors of Praxis News of Worship.
JOHN BARNARD, composer, organist and choir
director, brought his experience as a parish musician and an active
member of the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland, while two
members of the group are based in cathedrals: MIOHAEL
HAMPEL, Sub-Dean and Precentor at St Edmundsbury, and
PETER NARDONE, Director of Music at
Chelmsford.
The aim of the editors was to produce a resource which would
have liturgical and musical integrity, while reflecting some of the
widely diverse patterns of worship within today's 'mixed economy'
church and taking into account the centrality of mission in recent
thinking and writing.
The publishers are Canterbury Press - the book publishing arm of
Hymns Ancient and Modern Ltd - one of the world's great hymn book
publishers and the Royal School of Church Music.
